NewBar purchase, update and licence terms. Updated 25 October 2026.

The purchase

NewBar is a personal, non-exclusive licence for up to two Macs you use, subject to the supported system requirements. The current listed price is AUD $19.95, paid once. The total price shown at checkout applies to that order. NewBar is distributed directly for macOS 15 and later; download availability and supported hardware are stated with each release.

Seven-day trial

A verified account can receive one seven-day trial, for one Mac. The seven days start when its first Mac activation is approved, rather than when the account is created. The trial expires after that period and does not automatically convert to a purchase or charge your card. Public trials begin when an eligible public release is available.

Own the app; choose your updates

A paid licence includes access to eligible releases published during the 12 months following purchase. After that, you can keep using the versions covered by your licence. The app does not stop working because those 12 months have ended. Updates released later require another update period.

You may buy another 12 months at the price offered then. Renewing before the current period ends adds 12 months to that end date. Renewing after it ends starts a new 12-month period on purchase. There is no automatic renewal, recurring charge or obligation to renew. A renewal does not create a second licence or add Mac activation slots.

Accounts and activation

Keep your account secure and use a valid email address. Sign in through the website to approve the activation code shown on your Mac. You can deactivate a Mac in your account to free a slot. The licensing-enabled app checks at launch and daily. A cached, signed paid entitlement allows eligible builds to continue working during an outage. Trials and beta access remain subject to their stated expiry. Revoked access is applied when the app next completes an online check.

Beta licences

Beta access requires a verified account and an owner-issued beta licence. The owner sets its duration, expiry and activation allowance, and may change or revoke beta access. Beta builds may be incomplete or unstable. A beta licence does not automatically become a perpetual paid licence.

Downloads, privacy and other services

Updates are supplied as signed release packages. Install only releases obtained through your account or the app’s authenticated update flow. Internet access is needed for initial activation and online services. Some features require macOS permissions, a model download or your own provider account and key. OpenWeather and optional cloud AI are separate services with their own terms and any applicable charges. See our privacy policy.

Support and refunds

Support is provided through the web form, delivered to NewBar support at newbar@quickswitch.com.au. Include your order reference when asking about a purchase. Contact us if the software is faulty, does not match its description or does not meet a right available to you under applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Remedies depend on the circumstances and applicable law. See the ACCC’s consumer rights guidance.

Fair use and changes

Do not redistribute NewBar as your own, share an account outside the licence allowance, or use the service unlawfully. We may suspend a licence for fraud, payment reversal or misuse following review; this is separate from the expiry of an update period. Future prices and product availability may change, but a price change does not shorten an update entitlement already purchased. These terms apply to NewBar’s own software; third-party components remain covered by their respective licences.
